OverviewThe Proposal Writer is responsible for supporting company pursuits for federal, state, and local contracts. The Proposal Writer will directly support the executive leadership and marketing personnel to develop compelling and concise winning proposals.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Develop, write, edit, tailor, or create new technical content for proposals.Update content libraries consistently and thoroughly.Research proposal-specific concepts for content creation.Participate in proposal kickoff and status meetings.Participate in the team reviews. Evaluate feedback from each review and address comments provided by review teams.Interview subject matter experts to develop proposal-specific content and project descriptions.Other duties as assigned.Position Requirements:Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned tasks to meet tight deadlines.Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited University in Communications, English, Technical Writing, or a related program.3 years of proposal writing experience.Exceptional communication skills.Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.Strong research skills.Desired Skills:3-5 years of technical writing experience covering topics such as disaster or emergency response, temporary staffing, and logistics.Knowledge of FEMA, DHS, DoD/Federal, or state and/or local agency requirements.Experience working with and managing Microsoft SharePoint sites.Experience with editing Adobe PDF documents.Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud products such as InDesign.3 years' experience working in a fast-paced proposal environment.APMP-Foundations or PMP certification preferred.Physical Demands:Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.Affirmative Action/EEO StatementDRC Emergency Services is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
