A love of travel attracts many people to the field, but to succeed a Travel Advisors must be passionate about travel and the endless opportunities it brings to bridge history, cultures and cuisine. Successful Travel Advisors must have a strong sales drive, organizational skills with an eye for detail, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, demonstrated proficiency in navigating computers and various programs; must possess good written and oral communication skills and the ability and interest to be in a continuous learning curve.
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- Ability to work independently
- Entrepreneurial mindset to achieve desired outcomes
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Learning how to market through social media platforms
- Investing time into developing destination expertise and completing supplier certifications
- Reviewing quote requests
- Researching, creating, and executing exceptional itineraries for clients
- Coordinating payment schedules for vacation packages or other trip components
- Communicating effectively with clients pre/post-trip
Requirements:
- Applicants must be 18 and authorized to work in the U.S.
- Attend an online orientation
- Reliable internet connection
- Effective customer service skills
