POSITION SUMMARY :
Warehouse Lead will serve as a resource to assist with resolving conflict and addressing issues among team members within the team.
The Warehouse Supervisor will assist with conflict / issues that cross teams or departments. (Any and all complaints regarding harassment or discrimination must be handled with direct involvement by a Human Resources
Warehouse Lead will assist Warehouse Supervisor with creating team development plans to enable their team members to resolve conflict, communicate effectively and work together.
Warehouse Lead will have responsibility for helping to carry out these plans, which may include leading team meetings / huddles, delivering training (developed by others) and coaching team members.
In the area of setting team performance goals, creating action plans and evaluating team performance against goals, the Warehouse Lead is expected to support the direction provided by the Warehouse Supervisor through active facilitation of meetings and follow through on goals and action plans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Warehouse Lead is expected to understand the requirements of every job on their team so that they can assist team members with troubleshooting problems and provide guidance to team members with decision-making.
- In order to support cross-training needs, Warehouse Lead will make arrangements for team members to get the necessary training for the purpose of supporting business needs.
- To champion continuous improvement, Warehouse Lead is expected to work with the Warehouse Supervisor to lead their team members in identifying opportunities, contributing ideas and implementing solutions.
- Warehouse Lead is expected to understand, support and consistently apply policies, procedures and programs related to quality systems, human safety, food safety, preventative maintenance and personnel.
- Together with the Warehouse Supervisor the Warehouse Lead has responsibility for making decisions related to scheduling personnel and staffing which are cost effective and meet team members’ needs.
- Schedule receiving appointments for inbound materials, prepare crew schedules and make work assignments to accomplish daily tasks, ensure completion of Master Sanitation Schedule tasks, provide job training (forklift safe operation, inventory control, qualified receiving, warehouse put-away and set-up, ingredient set-up, stock runner , performing other work as assigned by the warehouse supervisor.
- Demonstrated leadership ability. Previous warehouse experience preferred.
- Warehouse Lead is expected to address issues throughout the entire plant and initiate corrective action in their area of responsibility.
- Warehouse Lead will assist in managing a written performance appraisal process for the team members in their area of responsibility.
This includes identifying individuals’ performance deficiencies and providing coaching and tools to enable improvement.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets;
experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The pay scale disclosed below has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
At Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
The pay scale for employees currently in this role is $27.11 per hour. A good faith estimate of the range the company will pay for successful applicants for the current opening is $27.11 per hour.
