Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing the entire Resort, including food and beverage, retail market, banquets, room operation, aquatics area, sales and marketing, property maintenance and human resources. Direct supervision of all department heads to orchestrate and maintain superior service and operational standards, to enhance the property and promote unity and team work in all areas.
To supervise, assist and direct the staff to maintain and ensure a high level of efficiency, guest satisfaction, and service and Resort profitability.
Working Conditions:
Requires a tremendous amount of contact working with guests, staff, owners and the community and be an integral part of resolving problems in all areas of the Resort. The General Manager must commit to working appropriate hours and handling stress in a positive responsible way.
Needed Attributes:
The General Manager must possess exceptional leadership skills in guest services, employee relations and general hotel operations. He/she must be resourceful, highly self-motivated and innovative, possess a strong work ethic and exceptional written and verbal communication skills. He/she must be patient, professional and flexible, and able to guide and direct work teams and individuals and have a rational outlook to achieve financial objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Carry out policies established by the Board of Directors.
Lead the marketing and positioning of this distinctive coastal property. Full responsibility for the operations success of the Resort. Ensure that the selection, training and ongoing direction for the Resort department heads is such that it maintains a high level of job satisfaction, morale, and team work in all areas.
Achieve Resort financial and business plan goals and expectations as established in the annual Resort business plan for all areas of responsibility and organize and implement strategic and tactical plans to facilitate this aim. Provide innovative and creative thinking and strategies to effectively differentiated the Resort from its competitive set and exceed fair market share. Maximize profits while accommodating unit owners desiring to utilize units
Consistently deliver accurate forecasting projections for areas of responsibility and implement effective adjustments as required, in staffing and other cost drivers to ensure profit integrity.
Effectively represent the Resort in the community with active leadership and participation. Ensure the property is operated safely and securely according to property and state and local code standards. Responsible for long and short ranged capital improvement planning and management.
Create, follow and report on annual budget for entire resort.

This position reports to the Board of Directors.
College degree in hotel management preferred and/or progressive hospitality work experience.
5 years General Manager experience preferred.
Food and Beverage experience a plus
Must be a citizen of the United State or possess a valid work permit.
Experience working in the Pacific Northwest: Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Northern California
