JOB TITLE: LEAD VALET
DEPARTMENT: VALET
REPORTS TO: TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT MANAGER
SUMMARY:
The Lead Valet position provides leadership and/or coordination for daily parking operations while working alongside Transportation Runners by providing professional, courteous and overall satisfaction to all guests using valet service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for practicing, supporting and promoting the Company Service Standards at all times
- Demonstrate attention to detail and complete assignment accurately
- Leading the work group in delivering high levels of guest service
- Ability to follow instructions provided in both written and verbal form
- High attention to detail and workplace safety
- The Lead Valet may be asked to assist in coaching Team Members and offer recommendations
- Must be self- motivated and able to work under pressure
- Assist with guests in a prompt courteous manner
- Maintains communication and cooperation with other shifts and departments to keep fellow Team Members informed of all pertinent information
- Have a thorough knowledge of all areas of the garage, major streets, landmarks and freeways in the area in order to assist customers
- Keeps track of how many vehicles comes in
- Safely park and return guest vehicles in a professional manner
- Must be able to verify that the valet tickets have been completed property i.e. Vehicle & Guest Information, Valet Attendant Number and that damage is accurately documented.
- Checks to ensure that the vehicles are secure (doors, windows, trunk and that lights are off), email Hotel Management and if any issues are found
- Monitor and direct personal and commercial vehicle traffic on property, including guest vehicles, taxi cabs, limousines, and buses
- Provide daily direction to the Valet staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to drive and operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles
- Ability to communicate effectively with Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form
- Ability to communicate in English
- Proficient in computer applications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record
- Previous experience working in a Hotel setting
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Must have or obtain all required work cards
- Must possess excellent guest service skills to effectively deal with guests
- Previous valet experience preferred
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment
- Must be able to stand during entire shift
- Work is typically in an area which may be noisy and may contain secondhand smoke
- Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling and grasping
- Able to effectively park and retrieve guest cars without causing damage to the vehicle
- Tasks will include but not limited to the maintenance and care of assigned area
- Constant contact with fellow Team Members and guests
