Essential Job Functions
Officers assigned to the Napa/Solano patrol position are responsible for monitoring the general safety and security operations at all sites within their portfolio. They will accomplish this by:
1. Complying with all rules and regulations of the sites including COVID-19 procedures.
2. Retrieving the patrol vehicle from the Vallejo branch office and using it to conduct vehicle patrols throughout the shift.
3. Monitoring persons on the properties to ensure they are following all rules and regulations and calling the respective police departments when a guest needs to be removed from the property.
4. When not on a service call, consistently patrol all common areas of the properties.
5. Reporting all security-related incidents via Incident Report before shift end.
6. Reporting all maintenance or property hazards via Maintenance Report before shift end.
7. Reporting all calls for service via the Call for Service report.
8. Submitting a Daily Activity Report upon arrival to each property and whenever activity is performed on a particular property.
9. In the event of an emergency, immediately notify the appropriate emergency responders, site contacts, and your Supervisor.
10. Act as the liaison between DRSP, the properties, and the local police departments. This may include meeting with local law enforcement on-site occasionally to gather pertinent information and maintaining a rapport to address issues occurring at or near the site.
11. Summon local law enforcement for suspicious activity or crimes in progress.
12. Maintain familiarity with emergency contact information, property maps, and follow property-specific post orders.
13. Enforce community and parking rules. Take photos of suspicious persons and vehicles or violations of community rules.
14. Request that disruptive guests leave the property and/or deter unauthorized individuals from gathering on the property by asking them to leave. Upon refusal to leave, or when repeated offenders continue to loiter, contact local law enforcement.
15. Prohibit transients from sleeping on the property by waking them up and asking them to leave. Contact local law enforcement for guests who refuse to leave.
16. Help build rapport with members of the community. After each service call, conduct a follow-up call to the Reporting Party and advise them of the status of their service call (Example: Hi Ms. Johnson. This is Officer Thomas with DRS Protect. I was calling to inform you that the disruptive group has been dispursed. Please call us back if they return or if you need anything else).
17. Lock up all respective facilities at their prescribed times.
Working Conditions
The position requires the ability to work without constant supervision and requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement, and fine coordination in using a computer keyboard, phone, and/or tablet. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision in reading reports and work-related documents and using a computer. Acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal customer service. The need to lift, drag, and push files, paper, books, and documents weighing up to 30 pounds is also required. Some of these requirements may be accommodated for otherwise qualified individuals requiring and requesting such accommodation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Prior customer service experience required
- Driver's license and clean Motor Vehicle Record are required.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Prior security experience preferred.
License/Certification Requirements
Possession and continued maintenance of a Bureau of Security and Investigation Services Guard License required.
Selection Process
