In great storytelling, the details in the videos matter. The Assistant Video Editor is the one making those adjustments and organizing the details that go into the final product which reaches the hearts and minds of millions of people.
Our Assistant Video Editor will work closely with our Founder, Leon Hendrix, to build impactful, engaging content to share fresh perspectives and help improve the lives of our viewers.
Accountabilities:- Cut raw footage into selects and organize the footage in a user friendly format for the team
- Add engaging elements to the videos: such as B-roll, text, simple animations, music, and sound effects
- Ensure a high-quality and on-brand look to the videos
- Collaborate with the editing team to improve the story, engagement, and clarity of the videos
- Own quality assurance of the videos by minimizing errors in the videos: such as spelling, unbalanced sound levels, and incorrect cuts, etc
Skills to excel:
- Good eye and feel for design and music
- Ability to visualize and break down complex concepts into B-roll, text, graphs, animations to help guide the viewer through the points being made
- High attention to detail
- Natural tendency to be organized and process driven
- Proactivity to improve the video and make some decisions without constant instruction
What technical knowledge do you have to perform in your role?
Required
- Experience with Final Cut Pro or similar video editing software
- Experience with Zoom calls
- Experience with Frame.io or similar video feedback software
- Experience with Epidemic Sound, MusicBed, ArtGrid.io or similar stock video music and sound effect websites
- Experience with PostLab or similar video collaboration software
Qualifications (Must haves):
- 1 years of video editing (we are open to people with much more experience as well)
- Experience sourcing B-roll online
- Experience sourcing music, sound effects, and stock footage online
- Experience creating simple animations

Pay range$10 - $20/hour (USD) starting pay
