We are looking for an experienced, forward-looking Senior Cost Analyst to analyze DRW’s cost information, seeking ways to improve efficiency and accuracy of allocations and decrease costs in areas of the organization that do not sacrifice growth of the business and maintenance of firm culture. A firm understanding of a trading business and how it operates is critical to understanding the necessity, efficiency and allocation of both trading and support costs. This role will lead Cost Committee meetings. This role will partner with a diverse set of trading businesses, operations and technology teams to think beyond today into what’s possible tomorrow and identify gaps in DRW’s cost structure and cost allocations.
The position will be based in Chicago.
Responsibilities:
- Understand how internal and external costs are allocated across DRW’s profit centers
- Work with DRW leadership to ensure costs are allocated equitably among DRW’s profit centers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cost reduction strategies
- Recommend ways to improve cost tracking methods, analysis and reporting.
- Provide cost analysis results to assist senior management in decision-making and financial initiatives
- Generate and maintain company KPIs as it relates to costs
- Contribute to yearly operating budget process
- Estimate cost of new projects, services and products
- Collaborate with Purchasing and Accounts Payable to ensure transparency and that allocations are proper, timely, and do not create inefficiencies in vendor payment processing time.
- Identify and define strategic priorities in close collaboration with DRW leadership
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
- 4 years of experience in an analytical role in finance
- Firm understanding of a trading business preferred
- Exceptional analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities with ability to leverage data for analysis
- Organized and able to work under pressure
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
