Brown Company is currently seeking applicants for a Facilities/Engineering Manager to help lead our operations team efforts.
Position Summary:
The Maintenance / Facilities & Engineering Manager is accountable for managing the maintenance department, facility and the manufacturing engineering team. This individual has a strong connection with the Operations teams and continuously drives improvements throughout the production processes. This position oversees maintenance of existing machinery, building structures, inspecting the building to meet safety regulations, coordinating renovations and updates, machine justification and acqusitions, and negotiating contracts with service providers.
Essential Duties:
- Lead and supervise one Maintainence Supervisor, hourly maintenance technicians and manufacturing engineers, providing training and tools required to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
- Provides leadership, project management and direction for the plant's maintenance and engineering functions.
- Coordinates specifications, planning, explanations and implementation of capital projects, and major maintenance activities.
- Assures activities are completed in a safe manner, consistent to government guidelines, with a minimum disruption of plant production within time periods and within budgeted costs.
- Supervise and ensures the safety of outside contractors as required.
- Works closely with HR and EHS coordinator to provide education and training to ensure continuous compliance with OSHA and internal safety regulations and methods to improve productivity and/or reduce maintenance downtime and costs.
- Propose projects that reduce cost and/or improve operational performance.
- Practices and sustains ISO 9001 procedures and policies.
- Initiates continuous improvements by using Lean Principles.
Secondary Essentials:
- Develop and implement procedures to train employees in the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing processes.
- Plan, justify and implement capital spending projects for all areas of manufacturing facility.
- Participates in safety audits in compliance with companies' programs.
- Update, create and implement working procedures.
- Train employees in the proper procedures, methods and programs in accordance with company policies and safety schedules.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Carries out supervisor responsibitlies in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilties include interviewing, hiring, and training employees: planning, assigning, and directing work: appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Minimum of five (7) years of related experience in facilities management and leading and developing team in engineering and skilled trades.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal teams, customers and suppliers.
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Physical Requirements
Most of the time spent sitting, standing and walking. May be situations which require up to 25 pounds of lifting. Must be able to bend periodically.
