Position Summary
This Business Development Assistant role at DSI is a full-time virtual position that reports directly to Head of Business Development and Marketing. This role is best suited for a flexible individual who is a self-starter, a problem-solver, and adjusts quickly as business needs change. He/she will serve many roles on the Business Development team.
Role and Responsibilities
This Business Development Assistant will be responsible for several initiatives, including:
- Familiarization with the company's vision and mission,
- Performing market research activities to identify potential clients,
- Cultivating strong relationships with new clients,
- Collating and maintaining client information in the CRM database,
- Collaborating closely with associates across departments to implement growth strategies,
- Assist in developing and implementing sales strategies, client service and retention plans, and analyzing sales data to inform or update marketing strategies,
- Assist with drafting business plans, sales pitches, presentations, reference material, and other documents as required,
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and adhere to deadlines,
- Identification of new business opportunities and partners,
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with various levels of management, staff, and clients.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Required Skills:
- Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in relevant work experience in business development or similar field preferred,
- Creation of compelling verbal and visual content for marketing emails,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels,
- Excellent collaboration skills with a proven ability to meet or exceed deadlines,
- Skilled in writing and editing content with an attention to detail,
- Must have proficiency in Microsoft office software as well as familiarity in common business platforms,
- Strong prioritization skills and efficient time management skills.
Desired Skills:
- Previous experience in life science or consulting,
- Strong knowledge of various sales, marketing and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Canva, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Pardot),
- Strong understanding of B2B Marketing strategies and tactics,
- Basic WordPress skills.
