Manufacturing Superintendent needed for leading Pulp and Paper Company

About:
A leading Pulp and Paper company is seeking a talented Manufacturing Superintendent to join their team in the Greater Houston area. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a dynamic team of manufacturing and production professionals at a state-of-the-art facility.

The ideal Manufacturing Superintendent will have the following responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of 50 production staff with 5 direct reports
  • Direct safety initiatives at a large production facility to strive for a work injury and incident free environment
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor KPI and work processes to optimize site production
  • Employ effective leadership techniques among reports and staff members

The Manufacturing Superintendent qualifications:
  • 5 years' leadership experience in a complex manufacturing setting
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial or electrical engineering or similar technical field preferred.
o Years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree for the right candidate
  • Experience within pulp, paper, lumbar, wood, forestry or similar manufacturing settings
  • Strong history of successful continuous improvement initiatives
  • LEAN/Six Sigma certifications a plus
  • Familiarity with LEAN concepts such as 5s, TPM, Kanban, Kaizen, etc.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS
