Senior Manufacturing Engineer
We are seeking an individual to establish and maintain a new manufacturing process line using cutting-edge technology, including automation, 3-D printing, and robotics. The goal is to identify and implement improvement opportunities, applying lean manufacturing methodologies to ensure simpler, faster, cost-effective, and reliable production methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and modify 3-D models using CAD software like SOLIDWORKS.
- Design manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts, including production flow, equipment installation, processing steps, machining, and material flow for military products.
- Arrange machines within plant facilities to ensure the most efficient and productive layout. Design the sequence of operations and specify procedures for fabricating tools, equipment, and other functions affecting product performance.
- Implement Digital Build Records and a Component Bar Code Traceability scheme.
- Take ownership of machinery, equipment, and tool performance to verify efficiency. Investigate and initiate corrective actions for problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality and sustainment.
- Develop manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control and capable of developing those techniques.
- Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
- Provide guidance to the design engineering organization regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
- Ensure processes and procedures comply with regulations.
- Structural and thermal analysis capabilities using FEA software like ANSYS are preferred.
- Regularly interface with design engineers, quality engineers, manufacturing engineers, and shop floor personnel.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with at least 9 years of engineering experience.
- Master's degree in STEM field preferred.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, customer specifications, and quality requirements.
- Ability to independently set up and process jobs to specification.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of working effectively in a team environment with engineering peers and manufacturing operators.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic, technical work environment.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
