Summary
The Operations Manager reports to the Director of Operations and provides direction to project teams, interacts with clients at the supervisory level, and provides input to strategic decisions. The Operations Manager is responsible for procuring equipment, implementing policies and procedures, tasking employees, and resource management for day- to-day operations at multiple locations. The Operations Manager regularly acts as a liaison between customers and numerous company departments. Additionally, The Operations Manager manages the service, repair and overall maintenance of aircraft and aircraft engines to verify aircrafts are safe for flight and compliant with FAA regulations.
Essential Functions
- Maintain situational awareness on all aircraft maintenance hours, inspections in order to make informed decisions.
- Manage DST Flight and Facilities Schedule with the Program Manager.
- Participate in Business Development.
- Manage flight line team (consisting of operations technicians, avionics and A&P personnel).
- Main POC for all weekly customer activity – interface with customers upon arrival.
- Dictate DST aircraft fleet hangar locations by referencing the DST Flight Schedule.
- Determine needs and requirements de-conflict with other customer/vendor activity, coordinate with Chief Pilot to coordinate airspace, etc.
- Clearly define and prioritize daily/weekly tasks to maximize customer/vendor flight time.
- Determine needs and facilitate purchases (power carts, cabling, parts, tools, supplies, etc.).
- Performs routine and detailed inspections of final products to ensure final product is up to industry and company standards.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position is the direct manager to the Line Supervisor and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the Line Supervisor.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday – Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm with a one-hour unpaid meal break. Evening and weekend hours may be required as projects demand.
Travel
Travel to other customer sites within the continental United States will be required, with occasional OCONUS travel to be expected.
Required Education and Experience
- A&P Certificate.
- IA.
- At least 3-5 years’ experience in a leadership position.
- Experience in an aviation or defense industry.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelors’ degree in Business, Business Management or other related fields.
Other Hiring Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License.
- U.S. Citizenship status required.
- Must hold or be able to obtain a DOD Top Secret Level Clearance (at minimum).
- Working knowledge of the latest business policies and regulations.
- Demonstrate analytical thinking and business insight.
