Role Overview:
The Retirement Plan Conversion Analyst is responsible for on-boarding start-up plans and establishing and executing mass exchange requests, and product moves within each client platform. This position managers fund reconciliation activities for service conversions, and provide customer support during the installation phase. Conversion Analysts coordinate activities with Plan Sponsors, Third Party Administrators, Broker/Agents and internal groups.
Responsibilities:
- Independently coordinate all system aspects of Plan installations and conversions. Reviews initial applications / Adoption Agreement for new Plans to be installed or converted. Ensures all data and systems requirements such as Plan format setups and data downloads are properly executed. Works with DST as needed to define requirements for mapping more complex layouts on large Plans from various providers / recordkeeping systems.
- Handles Money Market, Mapped, Retirement Date, and complex dual strategy conversions and product moves. Plays a lead role in converting mid and large market plans.
- Releases full service and plan direct conversions and applies logic to ensure redemptions, trade dates and bypass flags are accurately processed. Handles money market, RDF and complex mapped conversions.
- Handles maintenance and updating of master spreadsheet for MVA (Market Value Adjustment) calculations on annuity product de-conversions.
- Coordinates with plan sponsors, prior record keepers and or third party administrators to arrange for fund purchases, ultimately ensuring correct allocations are made to the individual participant accounts.
- Serves as primary point of contact for all tasks during conversion and coordinates data migration and reconciliation, plan accounting and system set up.
- Troubleshoots and resolves issues that arise during conversion, working in collaboration with the conversion team, operations and relationship management. Including monitoring and assisting in effective resolution of escalation requests.
- Works with NSCC, trading services, operations, adjustments, open items and control teams to resolve outstanding issues properly and within specified timeframes. Coordinate communication and resolution with RPAMs, Plan Design, Reporting and Testing, and Relationship Teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of formal education and work experience.
- 3-5 years’ defined contribution Plan administration and/or conversion experience required.
- Proficient knowledge of qualified retirement Plans, understanding plan set up and maintenance as applicable to daily plan administration.
- General knowledge of IRS and SEC regulations.
- Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel required.
- Strong numbers aptitude including high level of accuracy and attention to details.
- Ability to gather and analyze facts, evaluates plan needs, and develops creative solutions.
- Demonstrate organizational skills, and the ability to set goals and prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent Communication skills required (verbal and written).
- Strong customer service orientation is essential.
