Summary
Electrification and Mobility Competence Center (EMC2), Programme Manager – Public Affairs is a senior position based in the United States, that supports DSV’s mission for safety and compliance of mobility-related Dangerous Goods handling and shipping through superior technical expertise and guidance. The primary focus of the role is developing and supporting DSV programs, policies, procedures, and trainings for mobility-related Dangerous Goods, which include but are not limited to lithium batteries. This position is inside EMC2, which specializes in supporting electrified and future mobility clients. A high degree of analytical skills, experience with Regulations and Public Affairs, and industry knowledge is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Remain current on the Dangerous Goods (DG) and Quality Assurance, Health & Safety, and Corporate Environmental (QHSE) requirements for handling and shipping lithium batteries across all countries and all modes of transportation
- Research applicable DG and QHSE requirements for new DSV products and services and new customer requests as the mobility industry grows
- Develop and implement programs, policies, procedures, and trainings related to the DG and QHSE requirements to ensure safety and compliance
- Provide consultation to internal stakeholders and DSV Clients
- Perform audits and risk assessments, maintain statistics and report as necessary
- Develop solutions for EMC2 customers, leveraging DSV vertical structure and competencies into innovative developments
- Work closely with operations to deliver high level of service to customers Identify and develop relationships with key decision makers at all levels within EMC2 accounts
- Work closely with customers to intimately understand their needs
- Work across all divisions within DSV to create custom solutions that deliver value to customers
Educational background / Work experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in logistics, supply chain management, or engineering
- Have a proven track record of success within the automotive industry
- Minimum 5 years of American experience in the logistics and supply chain industry; or minimum 8 years of experience in the Automotive industry, either in manufacturing engineering or product development engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with Regulatory or Public Affairs in the United States
- Have subject matter expert grade knowledge of the Automotive industry, including related topics such as electric vehicle charging, micro-mobility, and circular economy
- Have subject matter expert grade knowledge of Lithium Battery Dangerous Goods shipping
Skills and Compentencies
- Have subject matter expert grade knowledge of the Automotive industry, including related topics such as electric vehicle charging, micro-mobility, and circular economy
- Have subject matter expert grade knowledge of Lithium Battery Dangerous Goods shipping
- A unique combination of good interpersonal and communications/presentation skills, both written and oral, coupled with a sharp business acumen and consultative sales approach.
License:
- Valid Driver’s License
Computer Literacy
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong working / user knowledge of tools regularly utilized in the sales & marketing profession (Word, Excel, MS office, PowerPoint, internet browser, etc.).
Travel Requirements
- Pre-pandemic travel levels ranged between 25% – 35%
- 80% of the travel is within the United States
- 20% of the travel is global in nature
