Under general supervision, the facilities Warehouse Operator assigned to Housekeeping is responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly Building / Facility, performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks and may assist in duties involving Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC skills, operation of various power tools, and light-to-medium related equipment. Work performed with some independence within established policies, procedures and techniques, is subject to general or direct supervision as the work situation warrants.
As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality. Associates are expected to comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain offices, cubical, conference rooms, restrooms, and or any other office space clean and in orderly fashion.
- Maintain Storage areas (neat and clean)
- Maintains cleanliness of exterior grounds (bay areas, lobby entrances, etc.,)
- Maintain accurate warehouse cleaning supply inventory. Conduct physical inventory as required. Assist in daily / monthly “in-house” supply count when required.
- Floors must be maintained daily to ensure cleanliness, free of dirt and debris, obstacles and trip/slip hazards. Post hazard information signs where needed.
- Trash Receptacles are expected to be emptied, all warehouse and office trash receptacles daily - or as necessary.
- Windows should be cleaned weekly or as necessary.
- Replace or refill all water dispensers (jugs) in warehouse and office areas daily or as needed.
- Check office and warehouse lighting weekly and report outages to your Supervisor.
- Operate sweeper/MHE/floor scrubber/floor stripper-buffer in accordance with OSHA requirements. Proper preventive maintenance records must be kept and required PPE must be in place at all times.
- Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. Conduct daily “pre-operating” inspections and perform minor maintenance on the equipment intended for use. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Report any faulty or damaged items to your Supervisor.
- Perform housekeeping audits, update daily cleaning logs, and complete COVID-19 checklist [per operations/HR] requirements.
- Performs other duties as required
- Able to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required by the operation. Participate in established cross training matrix activities with the opportunity to improve their knowledge in multiple areas / departments and be able to assist as a backup associate when the need may rise.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Able to operate MHE or become certified within 30 days of hire
- Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
- Satisfactory completion bloodborne pathogens body fluids cleanup training
