Job Summary:

The Accounting Specialist plays a vital role in the financial operation of our company. We are seeking a detailed oriented person to ensure timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries, assist with customer invoicing, and assist with accounts payable.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Manage shared email box for customer inquiries, including timely responses to customers, issue investigation, and resolution.
• Answer customer telephone calls, including customer service, issue investigation, resolution.
• Invoice customers for assigned divisions.
• Collaborate with sales and operations to ensure accurate invoicing.
• Reconcile and maintain customers AR accounts.
• Daily application of cash receipts to customers’ accounts.
• Process credit card, ACH payments, and customer credit issuance.
• Identify slow paying accounts for escalation to collections.
• Enter data into the accounting records.
• Assist in preparation of year-end reports for outside accountants.
• Assist in the annual audit process and document support.
• Provide forecast and cost benefit analysis as requested.
• Communicate and respond to customers’ inquiries.
• Assist with accounts payable, including processing accounts payable and assisting with supplier questions.
• Provides ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.

• Frequent and periodic speaking, reading, and writing (English) with customers.
• Provide Internal and external customer service support.
• Able to complete required paperwork accurately and completely.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to provide exemplary customer service.
• Good understanding and working knowledge of Excel.
• High level of integrity in dealing with confidential information.
• Experience in the Recycling industry a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Concur preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Fluency in Spanish a plus.

Qualifications:

• Accounting degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism.

• Open to tackling side projects when time is available.
• Three - five years or more of related experience required.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
