Title: Welder/Fabricator
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Hourly
Compensation: $26 - $32/hour

Position Summary:- Proficient with SMAW and MIG welding processes.
- Aluminum and carbon steel – from 22 gauge to 0.50 thickness.
- Metal Fabrication – knowledge of sheers, breaks, rolls and various Fab equipment.
- Cuts and/or joints metal parts to fabricate or repair equipment using tools such as plasma cutter, MIG welder, AC welder, oxyacetylene torch, chop saw, grinder, drill press, clamps and hand power tools.
- Designs and fabricates parts and equipment to meet unusual or special needs of the product, using manufactures’ specifications, measuring devices, calculator, drawings and service requests.
- Moves material or supplies to directed locations to expedite repair work or modifications.
- Installs manufacturers’ components and equipment to test durability and safety.
- Awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions, practices and procedures of the welding trade.
- Follow detailed oral and written instructions in the fabrication or repair of requested equipment.
- Communicate ideas to shop personnel regarding the design and fabrication of product.
- Must wear appropriate protective gear and clothing, as necessary.
- Minimum 1 year of metal fabrication experience.
- Required to have knowledge of the properties of various welding rods and fluxes used in welding metals.
- Required to understand the characteristics and properties of various metals used in cutting, forming and welding of objects.
- Capable of calculating mathematical problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division on a calculator to determine weights, measurements, time and quantities.
- Must be able to read and interpret technical engineering assembly and fabrication drawings.
- Experience in the repair of commercial semi-trailers and containers preferred.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
