Description
The Editor supports the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Office of Security and Integrity (OSI), Chief of Office (CoS) to facilitate USCIS employee knowledge of OSI’s security and integrity mission and functions through the development of an outreach coordination and external training program; to promote and enhance external and internal communication, collaboration, and partnerships.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Work with OSI divisions and stakeholders to edit material for agency audience.
- Edit and format material for grammar, punctuation, spelling, plain language, organization, readability, consistency, and appropriateness for audience .
- Materials for editing may include but is not limited to agency directives, standard operating procedures, PowerPoint presentations, white papers, reports, web pages, articles for agency newsletters, memos and other documents signed by OSI and USCIS leadership, training materials, job aids.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- Associate degree or higher
- Skill and expertise (5 years) in editing material for a government agency
- Expert user of MS Office suite
- Excellent writing skills with attention to detail
- Excellent oral communication skills to communicate effectively with subject matter experts and stakeholders
- Successful completion of corporate background investigation, including criminal and credit checks
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government suitability determination/security clearance
