Description
DTSV is hiring qualified personnel to support the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Potomac Service Center Operations Support Services (PCOSS). The Training Specialist, under limited supervision, conducts in-person training and conducts integrated training needs assessments. This person evaluates designs, coordinates and delivers a comprehensive range of training programs. The Training Specialist shall perform the following tasks:
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
• Delivering group and individual instruction and training covering a range of technical, operational, and/or management processes (Standard Operating Procedures, Computer Systems, Timekeeping Processes)
• Developing training curricula/programs to help meet an individual’s performance metrics.
• Formulating training outlines and determining instructional methods utilizing knowledge of specified training needs and effectiveness of such methods such as individual training, group instruction, demonstrations, and meetings.
• Selecting or developing training aids including training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
• Coordinating administrative functions necessary to deliver and document training programs.
• Evaluating effectiveness of training and development programs and utilizing relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.
• Assisting in analyzing and assessing training and development needs for individuals and departments.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
• Experience working on the PCOSS contract
• Proficiency in PCOSS processes
• U.S. Citizenship, required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DHS Suitability Determination, Secret clearance preferred.
• Express and exchange ideas clearly in the English language, written and verbal.

Minimum Education:
• High School Diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
• Read rapidly from both paper and a computer terminal.
• Capable of doing repetitive clerical tasks.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as: lifting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, sealing envelopes, filing, and reading.
• Manual dexterity in the use of word processing equipment.
• Good hand to eye coordination.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as: lifting, standing, sitting, reaching, twisting, sealing envelopes, filing, and reading.
• Ability to work in one place and transverse the office on a continuing basis.
• Ability to lift and transport up to 45 lbs. and push large carts.
