Viera Builders, Inc. is seeking an experienced Sr. Architectural Manager, who will be responsible for the overall successful and efficient operation of the architecture and permitting departments. This position oversees new plan development and engineering, frame walk notifications and subsequent tracking, lot fits supplied for contract execution, code compliance, and VBI marketing material creation. In addition, the Sr. Architectural Manager’s duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Lead the design of new plans from conceptual design to working drawings. Ensure the coordination of plan design. Direct the activities of the department to update existing plans to reflect feature and specification changes.
Ensure the start process to permit houses is within 30 days of release. Maintain active status on existing permits and manage all required permit modifications during construction.
Coordinate and direct field changes and repairs with Engineers and field staff. Field verify what is necessary for the repair, facilitate internal and county approved documents and follow up with field staff, and by personal inspection, to ensure repairs are facilitated properly.
Lead team to ensure lot fits and pool fits for sales managers are provided within 24 hours of request and with 100% accuracy.
Provide input to land development staff in order to cross check third party civil engineers submissions to ensure compliance with requested specifications in order to minimize future delays, decrease cost expenditures and increase communication between TVC and VBI.
Responsible for obtaining all Federal, State, and Local Development and Building Permits including timely submittal and tracking of review process in accordance with project schedules in tandem with other professionals on the project. Maintain active status on existing permits, manage all required permit modifications during construction, and ensure compliance and final certification.
Direct the provision of lot specific revisions for construction when requested, or in the case changes affect houses in production. Facilitate required plan review and frame walk meetings; Direct completion of changes. Facilitate changes required by state and local building codes in a timely manner. Modify master plans, existing plans for homes released to permit and in the field and incorporate knowledge from above-referenced meetings into future product.
Associate degree required. Bachelor’s degree and CADD preferred. Procore or similar construction management software certification, Notary Public. Five or more years in management role in Architecture department in new home residential construction or similar industry.
