About The Job
Dudek is seeking an Architectural Historian to work as part of a team of cultural resources specialists (i.e. architectural historians and archaeologists) to contribute to historic resource surveys, evaluations, and related technical documents in compliance with CEQA, NEPA and Section 106 of the NHPA. The ideal candidate has experience in property specific research, writing of historic context statements, familiarity with regulatory compliance related to evaluating historical resources in consideration of NRHP, CRHR, and local level designation criteria and integrity requirements. Additionally, the candidate will have reliable transportation and have the ability to travel in order to conduct field surveys.
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in History, Architectural History, Historic Preservation, or a related field – degree in progress is acceptable
- Strong writing and research skills (writing samples will be required)
- Valid US Driver’s License
- Flexibility to travel and conduct field work as needed or upon request
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience researching and developing historic context statements
- Familiarity with evaluating properties in accordance with local, state and national criteria and integrity requirements on State of California DPR forms
- Experience conducting property specific research at a variety of local government offices and repositories.
- Familiarity with CHRIS records searches
- Strong communication skills (both with clients and co-workers)
- Experience working as part of a team of cultural resources professional
- Familiarity with or experience in preparing technical reports for projects that fall under the jurisdiction of CEQA and Section 106 of the NHPA
