About The Job
We are seeking a field technician to support site assessment and remediation projects. The position will be based in our Sacramento or Auburn office and will include travel to field sites in the region. Duties will include maintenance and repair of field equipment, oversight of subcontractors, and preparation of field and technical reports.

Duties and Responsibilities (may include some or all of the below): 
  • Operation and maintenance of equipment and appurtenances related to groundwater treatment system, rehab of monitoring wells
  • Oversight of subcontractors
  • Manage/coordinate service of field vehicles, understand and evaluate recommended service
  • Conduct field visits, take photographs, prepare writeup of observations for technical reports
  • Work may be requested on non-standard hours/days, including some weekends
Minimum Requirements
  • High school graduate
  • Mechanical expertise – capable of troubleshooting and repairing machinery
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment
  • OSHA HAZWOPER Certification
    • Exception may be made if project manager and EHS director determine that project-specific training is an acceptable alternative
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment.
* As a federal contractor, successful candidates are required to pass the following pre-employment requirements prior to beginning employment: pre - employment drug test and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS in Environmental Science or related field of study.
    • Education requirement waived if applicant has relevant field experience.
  • Effective writing skills, good communication, attention to detail, organized, problem solver
Physical Requirements
Working Conditions:
  • This job will require project site visits based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, moving vehicles and equipment.
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met in order to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • This job may require working with SCADA equipment, which must be handled with care, and pieces of which may be heavy. It may also require working with PVC and steel pipe, including replacing portions of piping using large tools and other related tools/materials.
  • This job may require working on a computer, sitting or standing for long periods of time in an office or remote office setting.
  • This job requires attending meetings, both in person and virtually as well as speaking on the phone with peers, project managers, etc. Speaking, hearing and listening are required.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Proposed Salary Range: $25-35 hourly*
*Final agreed upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
