Job Summary
The Product Owner defines, delivers, and manages the lifecycle of products in a product portfolio. Leads a single product team developing a product as defined by the Product Complexity Model.
Responsibilities
Defines and manages product roadmap
Build, groom and prioritize the product backlog, continuously managing expectations with relevant stakeholders – including the senior leadership team
Manage the sprint planning process and participate in all relevant ceremonies (reviews of prior sprints, grooming, retrospectives, etc.)
Develop a deep contextual understanding of our customer, worker and user needs
Gather market feedback through user interactions, focus groups, and by performing industry research to support future development
Write detailed functional specifications, user stories and product documentation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams of developers, designers and analysts to implement and deliver new products and features
Collaborate with the organization on vision, strategy, decisioning, tactical execution, and measurement systems
Communicate roadmap stages and timelines internally with key stakeholders
Basic/Required Qualifications
Bachelors’ degree
In addition to required degree, five (5) years minimum of related work experience
In lieu of Bachelor's degree AND five (5) years minimum of related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND nine (9) years minimum related work experience
Desired Qualifications
Entrepreneurial with a strong inclination towards action.
Ability to communicate complex and innovative concepts to a new product development team
Clear passion for topics of technology products and an ability to identify possibilities to innovate
Ability to be self-directed and to proactively anticipate problems and seek opportunities.
Excellent communication skills including the ability to build relationships
Understanding of the SDLC process and the ability to work in an agile environment with bi-weekly releases
Experience operating in an environment driven by KPIs
5 or more years working in utility industry
Experience as a Product Analyst
Agile Product Owner certification
"Black Belt" Six Sigma certification
Experience with Jira
Experience with relevant new product or technology development experience working in a fast-paced environment
Experience with teams developing and shipping software
Working Conditions
Hybrid – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to a Duke Energy facility.
