Associate Professor of Law with Duke University (Durham, NC).
The tenure-track Associate Professor of Law will prepare to teach seminars, conduct in-classroom seminar teaching time, prepare to teach doctrinal classes, and conduct in-classroom doctrinal class teaching time. The faculty member is expected to research, draft, and pursue publication of legal scholarship. In addition to teaching and production of scholarly work, the faculty member is expected to attend workshops, perform administrative responsibilities and committee service, conduct office hours, and grade exams. The faculty member is also expected to participate in and service professional and academic organizations and conferences. Position is eligible for remote work 1-2 days per week. Reports to Duke University School of Law in Durham, N.C.
Requires a Juris Doctor degree. Position requires at least 4 years of related experience. Must have some experience in each of the following skills: Scholarly research and writing in the fields of business and consumer bankruptcy law. A portfolio of scholarly publications, including at least three full-length law review articles published or accepted for publication in scholarly journals or at least one full-length law review article published or accepted for publication in the law review of a top 50 law school; Litigation of business and consumer bankruptcy cases in bankruptcy courts and appellate courts; Development of materials to create and teach a seminar on business and consumer bankruptcy policy and related issues; Presentation of legal scholarship at conferences and in job talks; and Articulation of an individual scholarly research agenda in the fields of business and consumer bankruptcy law.
