Duties and responsibilities: This position is within Duke University Center for Health Policy and Administration. The Project Coordinator will be at the core of programming, having the most consistent communication and relationship with individual clients and coordinating care between therapists within Charlotte Trans Health’s PATH (Providing Access to Trans Health) Program, other PATH team members, and service providers in the community. The Project Coordinator will work with individual clients to determine their needs and goals, seek community resources to address them, help clients build their knowledge and skills to become self-advocates, and work with providers to support the medical and mental health care needs and goals of clients to work toward their treatment goals. The Project Coordinator will also participate in group co-facilitation and educational programming. This position includes community outreach, recruitment, enrollment, data collection, direct service provision, teamwork and communication, and administrative duties.
Skills and knowledge required: A successful Project Coordinator will:
- Have strong interpersonal communication skills as well as oral and written communication skills;
- Be detail oriented, well organized, and have strong follow-through;
- Be able to build rapport and relationships quickly with a variety of people including clients, therapists, medical care providers, and other service providers;
- Demonstrate creative problem-solving skills in real world settings; and
- Practice self-care techniques;
- Be able to work effectively with people of diverse races, ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientations, gender identities, socio-economic backgrounds, religions, ages, English-speaking abilities, immigration statuses, and physical abilities in a multicultural environment;
- Have experience working with the LGBTQ community and familiarity with issues of particular relevance to transgender and gender diverse individuals.
Travel and other special conditions: The position is based in Charlotte, NC and is a hybrid position, both virtual and in case management office location. Limited travel may be required for this position, including local travel to attend meetings and to provide services at partner organizations.
Work hours: Some evening and weekend hours required, with advance notice.
