Occupational Summary
Perform specialized mechanical duties in the repair, inspection, and routine maintenance of heavy and light automotive equipment.
Work Performed
- Perform specialized mechanical duties in the repair, inspection and maintenance of diesel and gasoline powered buses, trucks, cars and other power-driven equipment.
- Machine parts for automotive equipment and machinery according to specifications.
- Prepare necessary records pertaining to work performed.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Follow a predetermined preventative maintenance program on buses, sanitation equipment, trucks, cars and other power-driven equipment.
- Provide technical guidance and direction to lower-level personnel.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires an educational background normally acquired through a high school education with course work in skilled crafts or trades.
Experience
Work requires a practical knowledge of heavy and light automotive OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE mechanical equipment maintenance normally acquired through 4 years of automotive repair experience.
