Occupational Summary
Bass Connections is a Duke University program that supports collaborative, interdisciplinary research. Involving all of Duke’s schools, the program engages students and faculty in the exploration of complex societal issues through year-long research teams, summer programs, courses, and student research grants. Projects and courses are categorized under one of six themes — Brain & Society; Energy & Environment; Global Health; Health Policy & Innovation; Information, Society & Culture; and Race & Society. Launched in 2013, the program now includes more than 60 year-long research projects per year, several affiliated summer research programs, and numerous affiliated courses. Annually, approximately 700 undergraduates, 200 graduate students, and 350 faculty and staff participate in the year-long project teams and summer research programs.
Major responsibilities of this new position include managing and reporting on program finances; supporting the student hiring needs of Bass Connections teams; advising on administrative policy questions; and managing and reporting on program participation data.
This position reports to the Assistant Vice Provost, Interdisciplinary Studies and Bass Connections, is part of the Office of the Vice Provost for Interdisciplinary Studies. Our office is a remote-first work environment.
