Laborer/Operator

We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Employee to operate and maintain our advanced fabrication equipment. This position involves working with a Laser Cutting CNC machine, a fully automated brake press, and a fully automated welding machine. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal fabrication and excellent attention to detail. Looking for a dedicated and hardworking Laborer/Operator. Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently to meet production goals.

- Assist in loading and unloading materials as needed.

- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal functionality.

- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.

- Collaborate with team members to complete tasks effectively and on schedule.

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.

- Report any malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.

• Machine Operation:
• Operate Laser Cutting CNC machine, automated brake press, and automated welding machine.
• Set up and calibrate machines for specific fabrication tasks.
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintenance and Inspection:
• Perform routine maintenance on fabrication equipment to ensure optimal operation.
• Inspect machines for signs of wear or malfunction and report any issues to the maintenance team.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are kept in good working condition and perform regular cleaning.
• Fabrication and Quality Control:
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine the correct fabrication processes.
• Conduct inspections of finished products to verify they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Pack and prepare finished products for shipping or further processing, ensuring all items are correctly labeled and secured.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety guidelines.
• Report any safety hazards or concerns to the supervisor immediately.
• General Duties:
• Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals and deadlines.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote efficiency and safety.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated with industry best practices and technological advancements.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
• Proven experience in metal fabrication, preferably with CNC machines, brake presses, and automated welding machines.
• Familiarity with laser cutting technology and automated fabrication processes is highly desirable.

Skills:

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Basic mechanical skills or experience operating machinery is preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor for extended periods.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Familiarity with safety regulations in an industrial setting is a plus.
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing work environments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in metal fabrication or related field is a plus.
• Other Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment.
• Reliable transportation to the Lafayette area.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week

Shift:

• 12 hour shift
• Day shift

Shift availability:

• Day Shift (Required)
• Weekends (Friday, Satuday, Sunday) 36 hrs.
