Controller

Position Overview:

As the Controller, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial management, including accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting. This position is charged with ensuring the integrity of all financial reports and will report directly to the CFO.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Financial Reporting and Construction Projects

- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders

- Oversee cash management, including: receipts, disbursements, line of credit and savings accounts. Ensure timely and accurate processing of each area

- Review and file tax returns accurately and in a timely manner, including: income tax, property tax, sales tax, Innkeepers tax, food and beverage tax and occupancy license tax. Ensure tax compliance and take full advantage of all favorable tax codes

- Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives and optimize financial performance

- Implement and maintain proper risk management for the company.

- Adhere to all company policies and procedures and ensure that staff adheres to the aforementioned to meet business goals and objectives

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred

- Proven experience (5 years) in a similar role

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards

- Proficiency in financial software and systems; experience with M3 is a plus

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail

- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
