What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Division Assistant I position at DuPage County Government?
We are pleased to offer the current job opportunity for a Temporary Division Assistant I position in the Animal Services Department. DuPage County Animal Services is an immediate open admission shelter caring for more than 2,000 animals of varying species annually.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists staff with completing forms and filing paperwork with the division
- Screens telephone calls, emails, and visitors to determine the nature of requests or problems
- Composes routine letters, memoranda, general correspondence, spreadsheets and reports from rough drafts or general instructions for supervisors’ review
- Receives, tabulates, and accounts for fees
- Files documents alphabetically, numerically, or by other prescribed methods
- Monitors bookkeeping and payroll policies
- Reviews and verifies output of work
- Serves as back up in reviewing/auditing invoices as needed
- Reviews rabies certificates for accuracy and identifies errors that needs to be corrected
- Sorts rabies certificates according to department guidelines
- Enters a high volume of rabies tag information with a high degree of accuracy into a database
- Scans documents and confirms successful transmission
- Keeps management informed of rabies certificate accuracy and compliance issues
Requirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three (3) years of experience in skilled secretarial work with a high volume of public contact
A pre-employment background check is required.
