The Chemical Mechanical Planarization Technology (CMPT) business of DuPont Electronics and Industrial is offering an exciting opportunity for an Analytical Technician in the CMPT analytical group in Newark, DE.
The individual will provide technical expertise to support multidisciplinary teams in the development of new products and technical solutions for CMP technology. It is expected that this role would include working with scientists, engineers, and technologists in a team-based environment to drive projects to successful completion. Preferred candidates will have laboratory experience in characterization and testing in addition to good interpersonal and organization skills. Preferred candidates should enjoy working on a high performing team, be comfortable with analytical equipment, and adept at using software interface platforms.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Working safely in an R&D environment and actively participating in company safety programs. Generating and maintaining documentation for the safe and productive operation of equipment and tools.
Performing slurries physical analysis/characterization and testing according to SOPs.
Executing designed experiments under Scientist’s direction for R&D projects, customer troubleshooting, and manufacturing problem solving.
Providing technical support for multidisciplinary teams for both new product and capability development.
Assisting in laboratory equipment set-up, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Equipment and analytical instruments include primarily physical measurement analyzers (pH and conductivity meters, viscometers, densitometers, ovens) but also, as needed, spectrophotometers, particle sizing equipment, surface analyzers, and others.
Generating, analyzing, and summarizing data, maintaining electronic databases and documenting results in laboratory notebooks and analytical reports. Generating and maintaining SOP’s for the safe and efficient operation of equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues when encountered to accelerate repair.
Interacting in a professional manner with Business R&D, Field Service, Manufacturing, and QC teams.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED/HSE
Good understanding of analytical chemistry and equipment
Independent problem solving, strong attention to detail, and safety-oriented attitude.
Good computer skills with the ability to learn new software. Experience with software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently with limited guidance from a supervisor, and also in a group environment as part of a larger project team
Ability to handle multiple tasks and multiple projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors or Associate degrees in chemistry or related field preferred.
Preferred candidates will have a desire to expand analytical knowledge while setting safety as a priority.
Preferred candidates will have lab experience with physical testing including pH, conductivity, viscosity, and density.
Working knowledge or ability to learn various software platforms (e.g., databases, SharePoint, statistical analysis, etc.)
