DuPont Mobility & Materials (M&M) Performance Materials group is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Experimental Station Technology team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine experiments and testing duties.
Main job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Weigh up and prepare blends of resin materials following a recipe created by a researcher
Provide materials and be available to monitor extrusion in Semi-works Compounding Area
Prepare samples for molding test bars in Semi-works Molding Area
Run physical and analytical testing on molded bars – tensile, flex, impact, rheology, moisture analysis, among others
Follow Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to all safety requirements for experiments and equipment
Record and organize test results in Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and email
Document laboratory work using online electronic laboratory notebook
Order and help maintain inventory of lab chemicals, raw materials, polymer resins, samples, and supplies
Coordinate import and export of samples to and from testing labs and/or customers, including shipment of samples following DOT requirements
Coordinate outside laboratory testing including shipping samples following DOT requirements
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States; Visa sponsorship/support or relocation assistance are not available for this position.
Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED, Associate degree in STEM fields preferred
Some working experience in a mechanical laboratory, extrusion casting, or engineering lab.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and passion for working safely and efficiently
Self-motivated, able to work in a fast-paced environment, eager to learn new skills, and has practiced ability to effectively prioritize, organize, and plan responsibilities
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, enjoys working with a diverse team of people
Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Products - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Outlook, Microsoft Teams Meetings
Comfortable entering data and doing basic analysis in Excel (Sum, Average, Standard Deviation) with ability to identify when data is abnormal
Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Knowledge or working experience with polymers is preferred, but not required
