POSITION SUMMARY:

The position will coordinate and direct assessment and accreditation activities for the School of Education and education-related programs across the University. As part of a team of Directors, the individual will support the operations and decision-making processes within the School of Education. This is a full-time, non-faculty position with exempt status.

As a condition of employment, Duquesne University requires all new employees —full-time and part-time, including adjunct faculty—to get a COVID-19 vaccine and provide proof of their vaccination upon commencement of employment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates the collection, management, and storage of student learning outcomes data within data management systems.

Provides formative and summative data analysis on program needs for decision-making and planning.

Development and administration of surveys to collect data in areas of strategic need and interest.

Performs quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis of curriculum and program effectiveness, student learning outcomes, instructional effectiveness, as well as planning, decision-making, and grant reporting.

Collaborates with faculty and staff in developing effective assessment strategies associated with student learning outcomes related to accreditation, creating valid assessment instruments, analyzing assessment methods and results, reporting, and communicating assessment results, and preparing reports and presentations.

Analyzes data related to admissions, retention, attrition, graduation, and academic performance to provide stakeholders with information for decision-making, planning, and training.

Prepares and maintains data reports and documentation needed by accrediting bodies.

Collects, analyzes, and reports assessment data for the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), and organizations that accredit programs within the School of Education.

Collaborates with faculty to write program reports for University, state, or national assessment and accreditation.

Manages, implements, and ensures compliance with national and state accreditation requirements for the School's certification, degree, and licensure programs.

Acquires knowledge and understanding of Duquesne University and the School of Education's organizational structures, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures.

Provides professional development to faculty and staff to improve assessment and data collection.

Works collaboratively with undergraduate and graduate program directors for continuous improvement.

Actively participates in University and School-level committees.

Completes other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field.

3-5 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred qualifications:

Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.

Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Knowledge of program evaluation and assessment.

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both oral and written).

Proficiency in using or familiarity with database management systems.

Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Familiarity with survey design and development tools like Qualtrics.

Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau and/or Power BI.

Knowledge of instrument design and validation.

Familiarity with analytics and statistical modeling and analysis.
