RESPONSIBILITIES:

• You will oversee the research organization at dYdX. Research has a wide mandate including:
  • Cutting edge research into market structure on a distributed exchange.
  • Internal-facing analysis to help the business understand its users and product
  • External-facing projects to contribute to the global conversation on protocol design / trading / DeFi evolution
  • Educational content to help our audience become more sophisticated traders and users of our product
• You will personally own a broad set of research projects across a wide variety of topics
• Provide advisory services to other parts of the business on analytical / quantitative problems
• Release a regular schedule of research pieces across external platforms
• Collaborate with dYdX partners to enrich the research perspective

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s (or equivalent experience) in math / computer science / physics / statistics or other STEM degree
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Project management, time management, and ability to multitask
• Deep desire to ask questions, understand data, and develop hypotheses
• 3 years working experience in a technical role (developer / analyst / quant / data scientist)

NICE TO HAVES:

• Experience in or knowledge of trading (especially HFT), market structure, and derivatives
• 2 years of managerial experience
• Knowledge of and passion for everything in DeFi (especially dYdX!) and web3 with a track record
• Ideally have an existing personal research/content brand
• Experience with our technologies: SQL / Python / Pandas / xarray
