What are the responsibilities and job description for the Board Certified Physician position at Dymentum Health?
Dymentum Health is seeking one Board Certified Physicians to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services for the inmate population at a local Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) at Federal Bureau of Prisons 1000 Airbase Road Pollock, LA 71467 This is a 1099 contractor position.
Required Qualifications:
- Shall be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a government security clearance.
- Board Certified Physician. (must be able to provide verification of credentials and proof of malpractice insurance).
- Experience practicing General Medicine.
- Ability to begin work as soon as possible.
- Experience working with inmate populations or in inmate facilities preferred.
Scheduling Details:
- The contractor shall provide an estimated five (5) days of work per week. Each day will consist of eight (8), one (1) hour sessions, with a thirty (30) minute unpaid lunch break. A session is defined as one (1) hour. Specific days/hours will be subject to the agreement of the Health Services
Administrator (HSA), however, services will normally be performed Monday through Friday (specific working days negotiated), excluding Federal Holidays, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. for an estimated total of forty (40) hours per week. The contractor shall receive a minimum of one (1) hour pay for showing up at the work site unless they are notified in advance that they will not be able to work that day.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Take medical histories, examine patients, and order/interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests and x - rays.
- Make a diagnosis, provide treatment plans and prescribe medications.\
- Clinically manage injuries by suturing, splinting, and immobilizing.
- Attend to medical emergencies.
- Document in the Bureau’s Electronic Medical Record (BEMR on each inmate the same day that the inmate is evaluated.
- Record progress notes, recommend clinically necessary outside consultations, instruct/counsel and order or carry out therapy.
- Emergency consultation to be performed by the Physicians in instances where deemed necessary.
- Minor surgeries utilizing local anesthesia may be performed during consultation visits.
- Call outside hospitals to document the status of our inmates admitted to various hospitals as determined by the Clinical Director or his designee.
- Conduct 14 day chronic care clinic (CCC) assessment and conduct the CCC’s to ensure compliance with AAAHC, ACA, and Program Review guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with the staff physician(s), consulting physician(s) in planning, instituting, evaluating and revising program plans; assists in determining conditions, resources and policies essential to delivery of the health care services and discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problems.
- Manage the daily operation of the CCC clinic and may be required to conducts sick call, which may include securing health histories from the patient, recording findings and providing clinical evaluations.
- Provide a wide range of emergency services, including primary care for trauma and life - saving procedures.
