Operations Manager - Automotive Manufacturing

Our organization specializes in the manufacture of automotive, off-road, industrial and racing powertrain products. This includes Torque Converters, Transmissions (Automatic, Manual, Hybrid models) and Transfer Case Assemblies. Our Organization started with a single retail facility and a dream. One of our most profitable and busiest buildings. The ideal Operations Manager will have a strong understanding of information flow and product flow within a manufacturing environment. In addition to having a problem solving, go getter personality, the ideal candidate must be able to identify cost saving opportunities with respect to the operation and personnel. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; - applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators. - Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors. - Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout. - Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished-product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes. - Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements. - Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. - Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests. - Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations. - Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service. - Maintains product and process data base by writing computer programs; entering data. - Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians. - Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. - Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. - Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations - Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards - Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping - Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results - Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus - Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions - Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff - Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime - Commit to plant safety procedures - Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets     QUALIFICATIONS:   - This position is open to individuals who have worked as a direct employee in a manufacturing site.
