Validation Manager

Position Summary:

The Manager of Systems Engineering responsible filling role as both technical expert for product validation and people leader of the Validation Engineering team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage Validation Engineering resources for the program, and provide programmatic and proposal support.
• Provide oversight and support to critical program area Engineering skill development, which includes critical Test and Integration
• Establish, manage, and communicate team expectations, goals, roles, responsibilities, and objectives
• Coordinate and resolve issues across programs, identify risks, and appropriate mitigation plans 
• Lead and perform technical planning, system integration, validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
• Deliver highly technical, strategic content to external audiences to help educate and empower our clients, partners, and employees
• Subject matter expert regarding process, tools and methods for the validation map data products
• Provide mentorship and support of validation team members in the development of validation deliverables, validation tools/scripts, and advanced validation methods required for the detection and mitigation of critical requirement or customer reported failures

Skills Qualifications and Competencies:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree field
• 8-10 years experience of technical experience related to Systems Engineering, Systems Validation or related technical discipline.
• Automotive product development experience highly desirable.  
• Automated Driving Systems experience highly desirable.
• Organized with excellent written & verbal communication skills, good attention to detail, interpersonal skills and demonstrable success in engineering leadership roles.
• Ability to influence without authority, working with technical and multi-functional teams who do not report into this role to get things done.
• Experience validating map data (or similar large data products) is extremely beneficial
• Experience in programming (C , SQL, Python) is strongly desired
• Ability to travel, including internationally, to support customer related validation activities up to 10%
• Experience utilizing requirement/validation management tools such as polarion/DOORS

Work Environment:

• Works in a fast-paced office environment with multiple priorities and competing demands
• Regular office hours with requirements for additional work during busy times.
• May work for long periods reviewing data on computer.

Assets:

• Experience with LiDAR technologies, GPS and HD Maps a plus.
• Experience working with clients/customers in the auto industry.
