What are the responsibilities and job description for the QC Laboratory Technician position at DyStar Group?
Purpose of the job.
Make sure that products meet or exceeds specifications before shipment to customer.
Let Production know of any out of specification results so product can be brought into specification if possible
Keep while still in process production running by providing accurate results in a timely manner
Job Tasks and Business Decisions
Accurately Perform routine laboratory Quality Control functions, including wet chemical, physical, and instrumental analysis to make sure products meet specifications.
Conform to safe laboratory practices in accordance with Chemical Hygiene Plan and Chemical Plant requirements and regulations.
Reads and understands batch sheet procedures as related to the required in-process testing and/or final testing requirements.
Prepares and replenishes laboratory solutions as required by following the applicable procedures.
Maintains a safe and clean laboratory working environment.
Maintain working knowledge of testing procedures, protocols, and priorities for two production areas. Following laboratory operating procedures
Compute cuts and give instructions to production as required.
Reviews QC lot testing results to look for quality trends or anomalies that are present in historical data as directed by the lab manager/management team.
Enter data into spreadsheets, perform housekeeping duties stocking levels for laboratory chemicals.
Assist with testing & calibrating lab equipment.
Recognize and report any food safety issues.
Must be able to work overtime and on weekends.
Any other duties as assigned
Required Experience regarding the job
Bachelor's degree of applied science or Chemistry
Basic laboratory knowledge.
Basic math skills.
PC Literacy.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be a self-starter with a "can-do attitude" that can work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience with specialty chemical manufacturing is desirable.
Must have excellent decision-making skills, communication skills, and be able to work effectively with all other levels of the organization and have a demonstrated orientation to teamwork principles.
Good housekeeping and organization skills.
Must work well with others.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
