Job Description:
Role: Corporate Accountant
Location: Washington, DC
Job type: Full Time/Permanent
Corporate Accountant will be responsible for all financial, accounting, and reporting aspects normally associated with the corporate day to day activities.
Key Responsibilities:
· Preparing workpapers supporting monthly close process and month end balances for multiple corporate entities
· Monitoring the AP/AR at the corporate level, and interfacing with different stakeholders, including internal properties and external vendors/lenders/investors, to address concerns related to payments and receipts
· Monitoring intercompany transactions and reconciling intercompany balances across corporate entities and properties
· Managing corporate charges to various properties and making sure the collection of management fees, actively following up on outstanding accounts receivable
· Overseeing weekly bank reconciliations and credit card expense activities for multiple corporate accounts and entities
· Keeping track of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual workflows for corporate accounting tasks
· Recording financial transactions (journal entries, payments, receipts,. Etc.) and preparing financial reports to ensure compliance with GAAP, tax, and necessary regulatory reporting requirements
· Assisting managements, lenders, and investors, for accounting and finance related discussions
· Assisting the accounting manager with prepare financial statements, annual budgets, and other reports for internal and external uses
· Completing all period-end reporting requirements (month-end, quarter-end, etc.) for both internal and external stakeholders
· Assisting with the annual filings and reporting to various government agencies
· Additional duties as required
Qualifications:
· 2 years of experience in an accounting with a focus in full-cycle accounting work (Real estate industry experience, or consulting experience, is a plus),
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related business majors (CPA, CMA, or similar certificate, is a plus)
· Strong communication skills, positive attitude and team-player
· Ability to work with team members from various departments and functions
· Intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills
· Experience in ERP systems (AppFolio knowledge is a plus)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,046.46 - $105,000.00 per year
