The Ranch Leader engages in vineyard management functions by leading a small team of individuals with varying levels of experience and education and developing them to execute quality performance, problem solving, and customer service (internal and external) at an assigned ranch location. Develops and maintains an understanding and adherence to budgets, customer interaction, vineyard safety measures, and other functions relating to growing wine grapes in order to meet wine style targets.
What You Will Do
- Communicates and interprets overall organizational directives and applies them to team and individual objectives.
- Represents the team in ranch related matters to the rest of the organization.
- Provides input to management regarding direct reports and individual team member performance.
- Develops direct reports and individual team members to execute day-to-day operational functions.
- Organizes and facilitates team meetings.
- Initiates, implements and manages projects with a short-term focus.
- Conducts presentations and formal training programs.
- Ensures a safe working environment; conduct safety programs.
- Ensures GMP, safety, and quality.
- Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
- Assigns, monitors and reviews the progress and accuracy of assigned work.
- Ensures the consistent application of organization policies.
- Estimates personnel needs and ensures adequate staffing in order to meet pre-established completion dates.
- Ensures budgetary compliance.
What You Need
- High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
- Bachelor’s degree; or 4 years of vineyard management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Required to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Candidates for this position must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
What Will Set You Apart
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science plus 2 years of vineyard management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Bilingual speaker and writer (English/Spanish).
- Skilled in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint MS Access at a basic level.
