We are hiring for Seasonal Ranch Technicians to participate in the monitoring of and the accurate collection of vineyard performance and laboratory data ensuring that the company’s level of product quality and operational performance is being met.
What You Will Do:
- Participates in monitoring and collecting data such as pressure bomb readings, pest checks, vine water status, vine health, canopy conditions, petioles and soil conditions.
- Collects labor and equipment operations performance data.
- Participates in monitoring research and production block vines.
- Collects soil samples; performs fruit sugar sampling and testing prior to and during harvest.
- Performs vineyard scouting.
- Collaborates with ranch technicians and ranch leaders to accomplish respective assignments.
- Participates in maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ensures that day-to-day actions and decisions taken are consistent with all quality standards.
What You Will Need:
- High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Required to work any shift and work overtime when required.
- Required to lift up to 80 lbs.
- Candidates for this position must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
What will set you apart:
- Prior grape harvest experience to include scouting vineyards, collecting vineyard/soil samples or collecting vineyard data.
- Participation in college level courses.
- Knowledge of Agronomy.
- Knowledge of cultural techniques for wine grape growing including: leafing, shoot positioning, suckering, pruning and harvest
