What are the responsibilities and job description for the LOW VOLTAGE PROJECT MANAGER position at E.S.I., Inc?

Primary duties include leading the construction process efforts for assigned project(s) to ensure the success is aligned with the budget, schedule, and is constructible.
Requires the knowledge of various network and security system construction through the completion of a four –year low voltage apprentice program or a combination of education and experience within the industry.
- Five years’ experience in a project management position in industry
- Low Voltage apprenticeship, tech installer, project foremen/ general foremen, mentorship
- Estimator/Project supervisor or other electrical trade experience
- BICSI/RCDD preferred
- Strong management skills
- Excellent human relations skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrated financial analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Good interpersonal skills are essential
SALES, MARKETING, ESTIMATING
- Responsible for obtaining new work and sustaining work
- Prepare cost estimates and proposals
- Attend job walks
- Develop customer base
- Meet with customers to identify needs and scopes of projects
- Ability to manage multiple sales pursuits and projects simultaneously
CONTRACTS
- Responsible for full scope of each contract from proposal to closeout
- Read and understand the limits to the required scope of work
- Determine the pricing for the job and estimate the job
- Know and understand all terms of the contract
JOB MEETINGS
- Attend all required job meetings with GC\owner\sub-contractors and internal team members as required
MANPOWER/SCHEDULING
- Use appropriate tools for scheduling manpower to meet needs of current jobs
- Evaluate manpower needs using the cost to complete, job cost tracking report, and the project schedule
- Analyze how we are doing against estimate, use to predict manpower needs for job
- Track labor by phases and accurately report labor on the Cost to Complete
BUDGET
- Know and understand budget/prepare job cost tracking reports
- Include change orders included if possible
- Anticipate & include materials, equipment in the billings which are on the job but not invoiced by the supplier at the time of billing
BILLING
- Ensure prompt billings to create positive cash flow by working with Project Administrator and other support personnel
- Ensure billings are accurate and within customer specifications
- Follow-up on payments where collections may apply
- Anticipate & include materials and equipment in the billings which are on the job but not invoiced by the supplier at the time of billings
PAYROLL
- Follow established process to ensure timecards are reviewed and submitted for weekly payroll
- Ensure field leaders have approved all timecards
COST TO COMPLETE/WIP REPORTS
- Regularly review and analyze the cost to complete and WIPs
- Walk the job, discuss production forecasts and results with field leaders
- Update estimated hours and costs monthly
CHANGE ORDERS
- Coordinate/assign responsibilities for change proposals. Work with the field leaders and office support personnel for proposals, scope of work definitions and clarity
- Review proposals for proper pricing and presentation. Turn in change order pricing timely (based on contract time frame) and within customer constraints
- Review log of changes at least monthly. Take necessary action
- In special cases and in coordination with PA, follow up for billing and payment
- Help PA obtain budgets for accounting
- Analyze the total change order amount verses the original contract amount
CLOSE OUTS
- Review and Submit O & M’s
- Assure record drawings are complete, accurate, and submitted as early as possible
OTHER
- Perform additional duties as assigned
