This position is responsible for supporting execution, compliance, and enhancement of internal and external safety programs. Drive behavior-based safety culture to achieve accident-prevention and loss mitigation at E2 Optics customer locations.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:- Safety is our number one priority. Follow safe work practices in accordance to company and client worksite policies.
- Work daily with field staff, leads and supervisors to promote safe work practices and safety awareness culture.
- Provides safety and health training, instruction and coaching to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations.
- Coordinates, implements and executes safety training programs in accordance to identified business needs.
- Promotes safety and health awareness culture through employee engagement, collaboration, training programs and leading by example.
- Provides guidance and assists in hazard identification, mitigation, documentation and resolution.
- Provides input for safety and health considerations and assists in establishing standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Formal notification to field operations and staff for relevant H&S process changes and requirements.
- Assists the Safety Manager with incident/accident investigations, subsequent documentation, problem solving and implementation of countermeasure(s).
- Conducts and/or participates in Safety audits to review practices and records to ensure compliance with relevant H&S programs and OSHA regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement activities and support Lean initiatives across the site to align with corporate strategic goals.
- Track, trend and drive structured problem solving for recurring safety issues that prohibit realization of performance targets.
- Practice team member engagement by coaching, encouragement and guidance that drives behavior-based safety and fosters an overall safety awareness culture.
- Leads by example by exemplifying safety and professionalism on the job site.
- Reviews injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follows up as necessary.
- Travel: This position is generally expected to require minimal overnight travel (5%). The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2.
- High School Diploma required, Associate's Degree is preferred
- OSHA 30
- 2-3 years Occupational Health and/or Safety experience in a construction environment.
- Working knowledge of federal, state and local environmental, health, and safety laws.
- Experience with inspections, incident investigations, process safety, contractor safety, safety training, hazard reviews and job safety analysis.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on intermittent to regular basis daily. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. The employee may be required to work in tight, confided spaces. The employee must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance. There could be a requirement of occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
