Salary Range: $85,744- $107,179. The maximum pay for this position is $128,615.

Schedule: M-F, 8am-5pm. Flexible work arrangements and hybrid options can be discussed.

Early Head Start (EHS) is a team within the Children, Family, and Adult Services division of DHS. EHS is responsible for serving 74 children under the age of three and their families with comprehensive early childhood services to support the children’s growth, development and school readiness. EHS offers both center-based and home-based program options.

The Early Head Start Manager is a leader who oversees staff, resources, and programs to ensure children have a safe and bright future. They collaborate with staff, families, and community partners, and work across different departments within DHS to provide seamless services to clients. The Early Head Start Manager (EHS Manager) is responsible for all aspects of the EHS program, ensuring it meets high standards and achieves its goals. This includes:

  • Program Management: Overseeing the program, following regulations, and delivering quality services.
  • Monitoring and Improvement: Monitoring program performance, identifying areas for improvement, and adapting to address challenges.
  • Family and Community Engagement: Building relationships with families, community partners, and stakeholders.
  • Training and Development: Providing training opportunities for the EHS team.
  • Program Governance: Leading the EHS program governance processes and ensuring all required reports are submitted.
  • Team Leadership: Recruiting, supervising, and motivating the EHS team.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred education is a Master’s degree in early childhood education, education, social work, human services, or a health-related field or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that produces the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Minimum three (3) years of work experience in early childhood development, education, or a related field with specific experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Previous experience, collaboration or direct work within Early Head Start or Head Start is preferred.
  • Previous experience supervising employees and/or project management experience is preferred.
  • The position may require travel to service locations within Eagle County and may require travel to regional or state training, meetings, or events within/outside of Colorado; a valid US driver’s license, and the ability to pass a background investigation. Reliable transportation is required.
