Job Responsibilities
This Maintenance Supervisor position will support machining operations within the Eagle Machining, LLC (formerly
ZF) facility located in Fayette, Ohio. The position will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team of indirect maintenance technicians across a three-shift operation. This position will be primarily responsible for the following but not limited to:
Physical Requirements:
The role of a maintenance supervisor is to prioritize work based on customer demand and product lines required. After shift handoff meetings, work is assigned based on cell priorities and maintenance personnel are dispatched to the jobsites. After sending the personnel to the jobsites the maintenance supervisor needs to occasionally check on the progress of the work based on their knowledge of time required to perform those tasks.
The plant is approximately 250,000 sq. ft. in size with aisleways to all production cells. There are electric personnel carts that can be used to access all areas of the plant and two-way radios are utilized for verbal communication. The physical demand of a maintenance supervisor is very minimal at best since all paperwork is performed in the office and while monitoring the tasks being performed by the hourly personnel can be accomplished using the electric personnel carts and two-way radios.
- Actively participate in OEE and CIS projects to enhance overall plant performance.
- Direct activities through the Auto Technicians to attain production goals consistent with safety, quality, delivery, housekeeping and waste elimination.
- Reviews the root cause analysis to evaluate equipment and manpower resource requirements.
- Accountable for consistent application of policy and procedures throughout the plant, including both attendance and corrective action.
- Conceive, develop, and implement new machining processes to improve efficiencies, increase productivity and improve quality and machine utilization opportunities.
- Maintain cost system, forecasts and budgets.
- Participate with and support engineering and manufacturing teams with technical expertise needed to resolve issues impacting our ability to provide a top quality product in the most cost effective manner.
- Help launch new products and supervise installation of new tooling.
- Monitors scrap and controllable spending in area of responsibility.
- Implements cost reduction ideas.
- Assists with the purchase of tooling.
- Generates process flow, routings, tool estimates and capital estimates for new products.
- Participates in focused teams for process improvement.
- Support machine runoffs (which may require travel).
- Communication with internal and/or external customers.
Qualifications/Required Skills:
Minimum 3-5 years supervison experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment with the ability to work within a cross functional group. Basic computer experience and experience with software applications including: word processing, databases, presentations and spreadsheets. Basic report writing skills. Good communication and documentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and decision making skills. Excellent leadership skills. Ability to work in a multi-task environment.
Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing processes and a high level of mechanical aptitude with a desire to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment a plus. Knowledge of PLC/HMI programming and Allen Bradley controls experience preferred. Knowledge of product, tooling, test methods and CNC machining/grinding is a plus.
Knowledge of fluid mechanics, hydraulics and CAD software is a plus.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Physical strength and agility. Flexibility with job responsibilities and the ability to work overtime as required. Some travel may be necessary.
