Job Overview
The Quality Control Specialist will perform inspections and testing duties, review batch records, ensure compliance and record keeping for all mandated quality checks, testing, sampling and sanitation activities. Adhere to FDA 21 CFR part 111, Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), DSHEA and other applicable regulations.
Duties
- Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests according to quality standards.
- Report to the Quality Assurance manager in respect to QA/QC measures, updates and status.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs;
- Reviews batch records while maintaining solid GMP
- Sampling in-process and finished good products; recording quality results.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED or higher education degree
- Analyzing Information
- Documentation Skills
- Promoting Process Improvement
- Strong analytical thinking skills
- Knowledge of FDA 21 CFR part 111 regulations and Quality Control principles
- Proficiency in computer programs, including Word, Excel
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Processes (cGMP)
Pay and Benefits
- Pay range is $18-$25/hr depending on experience.
- Benefits may vary as we are a startup and need to hire before we can get accurate estimates of cost, but at a minimum we issue a benefits stipend of 7% base pay in the interim.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
This position requires use of PPE as required; standing 100% of the day, ability to reach overhead, grasp, push/pull, climb stairs/ladder and lifting of up to 30 lbs.
- Required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time during course of work shift.
- Required to stoop, bend, kneel, lift, and reach, in the performance of this role.
- Required the use of hands, speech, and hearing and use of feet to operate machinery/equipment. Agility to operate machinery and frequently be exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Lifting limitations for this position: 20-30 lbs.
- Vision requirements: close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral and depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus as needed.
- The employee is sometimes exposed to airborne particles.
- Noise level for this work environment is moderate (may require the use of earplugs when performing duties in specific production areas).
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirement. Lab coat, hair net, beard net (if necessary), mask, wash boots, goggles, and latex gloves in the production area.
