Earlham College is seeking a Director of Quantitative Reasoning Center to join our team!
Summary: Earlham College seeks a motivated, independent, creative person to direct our Quantitative Reasoning (QR) Center. The Director will partner with personnel across the College to promote excellent quantitative reasoning and skills development.
Preference will be given to those candidates with background in Quantitative Reasoning Center administration at the collegiate level and proven success in training and managing student tutors.
Essential Functions:
- Manage the peer tutoring program
- Offer regular peer tutor training and evaluation
- Develop, hire, and train tutors in new subjects like time management and public speaking.
- Manage the QR website and budget
- Offer skills-building workshops through the Academic Enrichment Center on topics such as effective test-taking techniques, etc.
- Administer the Quantitative Skills Assessment for new and/or current Earlham students
- Collaborate with teaching faculty for course-integrated quantitative skills instruction in a liberal arts setting
- Assess and continuously improve QR Center programs
- As needed, develop and teach fundamental courses for quantitative skills development
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- M.A. or M. Ed. in Mathematics Education or related field
- Possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and experience with mathematics education research
- Demonstrate an ability to work closely with a range of campus constituencies
- Ability to work with diverse students at all levels is essential
- Be a positive example and resource to all Earlham Students
