WSESU is seeking one full-time Early Childhood Special Educator to work with preschool students in a variety of settings in the towns of Brattleboro, Dummerston, Guilford, Putney, and Vernon. This itinerant teaching position will provide case management, direct instruction, evaluations, and support through transitions from early intervention and into kindergarten for students with developmental delays. Applicants must have a commitment to inclusion and the ability to assess and support inclusive classroom practices, positive behavior supports and interventions, and social-emotional learning and the development of play skills. Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder desired. Coaching and consultation to teaching teams and families is an integral component of ECSE services. Applicants must also have the ability to conduct early childhood assessments, collaborate with paraeducators, classroom teachers, and families, and use technology to support instruction and communication with teams. Knowledge of early childhood development, Vermont special education regulations, data collection, and disability characteristics is essential.
Applicants must be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Vermont AOE as an Early Childhood Special Educator. Successful candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in the Google platform. This position follows the WSESU school calendar.
