What are the responsibilities and job description for the Flex Classroom Support Professional position at Early Learning Indiana, Inc?
JOB SUMMARY
The Flex Classroom Support Professional (Flex CSP) serves all Indianapolis based centers. Each day, the Flex CSP could work out of a different center and/or classroom based on business needs. The successful incumbent will flex to meet the needs of our centers by being highly adaptable, contributing positively to each center’s unique culture, and championing Early Learning Indiana’s approach to teaching and learning. Additionally, the Flex CSP implements pre-planned lessons and maintains already established routines, rituals and structures to support individualized care for each child and steward parent relationships.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate at least daily with the Flex School Leader to understand upcoming schedules and centers’ needs for coverage. Adapts to schedule changes based on Day Early Learning needs, sometimes last-minute.
- When onsite at a center, communicate clearly with the center’s School Leader and other staff to understand how you can be best utilized to support their team and complete the essential responsibilities of a Classroom Support Professional including:
- Assist in the implementation of developmentally appropriate individual and group lessons to stimulate growth in language, literacy, mathematical, cognitive, physical, and social skills that are responsive to the evolving learning needs of each child.
- Assist in preparing and managing an engaging environment that encourages children’s independence and self-selection of learning activities.
- Establish warm and responsive relationships that allow each child to feel recognized, acknowledged and secure.
- Maintain an environment that is safe and nurturing by aiding children in self-care, implementing a daily schedule and classroom rules and providing support for children to regulate their own behavior.
- Maintain a healthy, safe and clean environment for children and colleagues.
- Adhere to all regulatory standards, rules and requirements, including those for NAEYC accreditation, Paths to QUALITY™, CACFP and Indiana child care center licensing.
- Conduct and document regular, objective observations of children’s learning.
- Communicate with families to relay information regarding each child’s day and information from the teacher and/or program.
- Other duties as assigned to advance the mission of Early Learning Indiana.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
An individual must have the following education and/or experience.
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
- Minimum six (6) months of Day Early Learning classroom experience. 1 years preferred.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) or higher education preferred.
